Details:
Born on December 11th, 1783, and entered the Madras Army as Assistant Surgeon on July 5th, 1807. He was promoted Surgeon on August 9th, 1822, and Superintending Surgeon on February 22nd, 1836. He died at the Cape on April 19th, 1846. Lieut-Colonel Crawford (*History of the IMS*) includes him among the twenty-nine members of the Indian Medical Service elected Fellows on August 26th, 1844. His death was reported at the College in November, 1851, but Lieut-Colonel Crawford writes, "I cannot be sure now [1921], but my date [of his death] was probably taken from a casualty list in Army Lists".
