Details:
Born on April 1st, 1816, at Samarang, Java. His birth certificate was in Dutch, but his father was an officer in the Bengal Army. He entered the Bombay Army as an Assistant Surgeon on October 29th, 1849, and retired on August 25th, 1862, afterwards practising at Cheltenham. He died at Mall House, Hammersmith, on July 20th, 1867.
