Details
Educated at Guy's Hospital, and was a successful operating surgeon at the Islington Dispensary. He also lectured on surgery at the Hunterian School of Medicine. A few years before his death he was practising in London as a consultant when his health gave way, and he retired to Bath, but found his condition growing steadily worse. A few days before his death he returned to London in order to obtain further medical assistance, but was suddenly seized with erysipelas and died in a few hours. His death occurred on April 26th, 1857, at Bryanston Street.
