Details:
Born in October 1818, the son of John Diaper, of Portsmouth. He entered the Bengal Army as Assistant Surgeon on Dec 25th, 1840, and saw active service in Central India, taking part in the operations in Bandalkund during 1842. He was promoted Surgeon on February 1st, 1855, was Field Surgeon to the Cawnpore Field Force during the Mutiny, became Surgeon Major on December 25th, 1860, and then Garrison Surgeon of the Bengal Artillery at Chunar, where he died on July 27th or 31st, 1863.
