Born in June, 1843; educated at Westminster Hospital, and later in Berlin and Vienna. He entered the Bengal Army as Assistant Surgeon on April 1st, 1860, was promoted Surgeon on July 1st, 1873, and died at Santa Barbara, California, in October, 1881.
