Please contact the library if you would like more information lives@rcseng.ac.uk** James Keith Jeanneret Grosjean was a surgeon and barrister who practised in Alexandria, Egypt. He was born in 1839 in Marylebone, London, the eldest son of Pierre Frederic Jeanneret Grosjean, a military outfitter and merchant, and Elizabeth Grosjean née Keith. He attended St Mary’s Hospital Medical School and the University of Erlangen in Bavaria, where he gained an MD in 1867, the same year he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was called to the Middle Temple as a barrister on 7 June 1873. He practised in Alexandria, Egypt, where he died on 5 February 1884. He was unmarried. Sarah Gillam
