Details

Joined the Army as Surgeon Assistant on Oct 12th, 1823, and was gazetted Assistant Surgeon to the 90th Foot on Nov 10th, 1825. He was promoted to the Staff on Nov 25th, 1831, being attached to the Grenadier Guards on May 18th, 1832, and gazetted Surgeon to the Regiment on Feb 7th, 1845. As Surgeon to the 3rd Battalion of the Grenadier Guards he went to the Crimea, and on Sept 30th, 1854, died of cholera on board HMS Apollo on the passage to Balaklava. He was present at the Battle of Alma.
