Details:
Entered the Bengal Army as Assistant Surgeon on March 31st, 1805; he was promoted Surgeon on March 22nd, 1818, Superintending Surgeon on July 24th, 1833 and on March 1st, 1843, was made a member of the Medical Board and Inspector-General of Hospitals. He was promoted to Surgeon General on July 23rd, 1843, and to Physician General and President of the Board on February 16th, 1344. He retired on February 16th, 1845, and died at Falmouth on August 30th, 1850.
