Details:
Born at Peterborough on 18 December 1874, the third son of Thomas James Walker FRCS, he was educated at Haileybury, at Clare College, Cambridge, where he took second-class honours in the Natural Sciences Tripos, part I, 1896, and at St George's Hospital, where his father had been trained. After serving as senior house surgeon at the Royal Northern Hospital, and clinical assistant at the Royal Westminster Ophthalmic Hospital, he joined his father and two brothers in practice at 33 Westgate Street, Peterborough, and served for many years as surgeon to Peterborough Hospital. He was also medical officer to the Post Office, and a certifying factory surgeon. He retired to the Old Manse, Tyndrum, Perthshire, where he died on 23 March 1954 aged 79, survived by his wife Ethel Ernestine daughter of Major Goadby of Slaidburn, Yorks and by their children. Mrs Walker died on 23 April 1965 aged 92.
