Details:
Born in 1903 son of T G Stevens FRCS, he was educated at Cambridge, but without taking an honours degree, and at St Thomas's Hospital, where he was casualty officer and house surgeon; he was also house surgeon at the West London Hospital and the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading and resident assistant surgeon at the Bolingbroke Hospital. He took the Fellowship in 1931 and then settled in practice at Dorchester, serving the Dorset County Hospital and Dorchester Prison, and later becoming consultant surgeon to the hospitals of the West Dorset group. He was in partnership with Dr Edward Weller Mann. He had lived at West Walks House and later at 12 Coburg Street, Dorchester, but died in Southampton Chest Hospital on 24 September 1964 aged 61, survived by his wife.
