Details:
Boovariwala was born on 13 March 1901 at Naysari in the Surat district of the Bombay Presidency, as it was then. He was educated at the Masters' High School and Elphinstone College, Bombay, and took his medical degrees from Grant Medical College. He then came to England and obtained his Fellowship in 1931. On returning to India he worked as assistant surgeon to A P Bacha FRCS in Bombay for ten years, and was also an honorary surgeon at Goculdas Tejpal Hospital, Bombay. During the second world war he served in the Indian Army Medical Corps with the rank of Major. After the end of the war he worked as resident surgeon in charge of the Deboo Parsee General Hospital at Naysari, his birthplace. He was also appointed as surgeon to the Wadilal Sarabinhai Hospital at Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat. His last assignment was at Mahe in the Seychelles Islands as a surgeon at the Victoria Hospital. He died at Mahe on 2 December 1958 after a short illness. He was a bachelor.
