Leslie Alan Spedding qualified MB ChB from the University of Otago in 1913. He became resident surgical officer at the Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester and while in the United Kingdom passed the College Fellowship examinations in 1920. He then returned to New Zealand and is thought to have died there in 1974.
