Details:
Singanellore V Vaidyanathan was born in Madras in 1931. His first significant professional post was an appointment as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanley Medical College in Madras. He came to England in 1963 and continued his post graduate training as a senior registrar to the Musgrove Park and Belfast City Hospital in 1969-70, before embarking for his definitive career in Winfield, USA. He was married to Padma, also a doctor, and they had a son, Ravi, and a daughter, Usha. Singanellore was tragically drowned in a motel pool on 9 May 1976.
