Iqbal Singh Chatha, who originally practised as Iqbal Singh, received his medical education at the Glancy Medical School, Amritsar, whence he qualified MB BS Punjab in 1956.
Coming to Britain he obtained the DO in 1966 and became a Fellow of the College in 1967. He practised as an ophthalmologist in Sutton Coldfield from 1975, latterly as consultant ophthalmologist to the North Birmingham Health District. He died on 3 June 1991, aged 58 years.
