Details:
Robert Hinrichsen was probably born in Brazil and qualified MD at the University of Brazil in 1929. He travelled to Scotland and became surgeon to Gleneagles Hospital and clinical tutor at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. In 1939 he qualified LRCP, FRCS Edinburgh and FRFPS Glasgow.
During the second world war he served as a major (surgical specialist) with the RAMC. He returned to Brazil and became specialist in surgery for the University of Brazil at Moncurvo Filho Hospital. In 1952 he passed the Fellowship of the College.
It is not known when he retired but he moved to Denmark in May 1969 and then spent the next twenty years living in Portugal where he died in March 1992.
