Details:
Graham Gordon Dinning was a consultant surgeon at Nepean Hospital, Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. He was born on 6 February 1929 in Belmore, New South Wales, the son of Benjamin Gordon Dinning, an agent with Australian Mercantile, a land and financial company, and Lavinia Margaret Dinning née Sherriff. His aunt, Mary Elizabeth Brown, was one of the first two women to graduate from Sydney University in 1885. Dinning was educated at Sydney Boys' High School and went on to study medicine at Sydney University. He qualified in 1952. He held junior posts at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney and gained his FRCS in 1960. He became a visiting surgeon at Nepean Hospital and also at Jamison Hospital, Penrith. He enjoyed bushwalking, skiing and viticulture. In February 1958, he married Noreen Teresa Cashin, a nurse. They had six children - Sarah Catherine, Lucy Margaret, Joanna Brigid, Sophie Elizabeth, Jonathan Redmond and Timothy Benjamin - and two grandchildren, Charles and Harriet. Graham Gordon Dinning died at home on 24 June 2014. He was 85.
