Details
Educated at Middlesex Hospital, where he was Resident Medical Officer. Practised at Royston, Hertfordshire for more than forty years, during which time he was well known as Coroner for Hertfordshire and as a Justice of the Peace for Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. For many years he was Medical Superintendent of the Royston Hospital. He was keenly interested in all matters relating to the Poor Law, on which he was a frequent contributor to the *British Medical Journal*, and was President of the Poor Law Medical Officers’ Association. He was Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Herts Volunteer Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment. In his retirement he lived at The Beeches, Royston, where he died on April 8th, 1923.
