Details
The only son of William Carr, of Birstall, Yorks. He was educated at Worcester College, Oxford, where he matriculated on March 15th, 1847. He took his degree in *Lit Hum*, obtaining a 4th class, received his professional training at King’s College, London, and for a time practised at Crow Trees, Gomersal, near Leeds. He was a member of the Statistical Society. By 1867 he had retired, and for a time, it appears, resided at Gomersal House, Yorkshire, moving in 1890 to Ditchingham Hall, Norfolk. He died on January 8th, 1905.
