Details
Born in Pembrokeshire in 1830. He belonged to a good county family, and was educated at St Thomas’s Hospital. On the outbreak of the Crimean War he was attached to the Royal Artillery as Assistant Surgeon, and going through the whole of the campaign, he was present at Sebastopol. After the war he became House Surgeon at the Chester Infirmary, whence in 1861 he went to Birkenhead, where he was House Surgeon at the Borough Infirmary till he settled in practice as successor to James Dixon, MD Aberdeen. At the time of his death he was Consulting Surgeon to the Infirmary and the Wirrall Children’s Hospital. He practised latterly at 32 Devonshire Road, Birkenhead. He died of heart seizure on March 18th, 1890, leaving a widow and children, and was buried at Flaybrick Hill Cemetery. Publication: “Case of Foreign Body in the Male Bladder.” – *Med.
