Details
Practised as a Surgeon at 5 Cleveland Row, St James’s, and was at one time Surgeon to the St James’s Infirmary, and later to the Burlington School. He was a Member of the Westminster Medical Society. Between 1858 and 1863 he moved to 44 Hertford Street, Mayfair, which was afterwards the address of his son, Francis Woodhouse Braine, the anaesthetist (qv). He was a well-known practitioner in Mayfair. He removed to Jersey at the close of his life, and died in France at Chambord, near Blois, on May 29th, 1870.
