Details
Born at Carlisle, and was educated at Edinburgh University, where he acted as Assistant to the Regius Professor of Medicine, Sir Thomas Fraser, FRS, later as Demonstrator of Anatomy, and also as Resident Physician at the Royal Infirmary. He next became Assistant Physician at Wye House Asylum, Burton. He settled in practice at Swansea, where he was successively Surgeon to the Ear and Throat Department, and Surgeon to the Hospital. He there built up a large surgical practice, and was consulted widely in the country around. During the War, 1914-1918, he served as Major RAMC(T) in charge of the 3rd Western General Hospital, Cardiff. A septic infection of a finger from which he suffered weakened his health, and he died suddenly at 152 St Helen's Place, Swansea, on May 28th, 1922. Publications:- Ebsworth published a number of communications on the surgery of Intestinal Obstruction, Prostatic Enlargement, and other subjects.
