Details
Educated at St George's Hospital, where he was entered as a twelve-months' surgical pupil to Sir Everard Home on Sept 29th, 1820. He may have been a relative of Thomas Thynne Folds, RN, an earlier St George's pupil. He became a Surgeon in the Royal Navy, his Warrant being dated Jan 19th, 1830, was Surgeon to HMS *Pique* in 1836, and in 1861 was Staff Surgeon at Devonport Dockyard. He was appointed Surgeon to the Royal Naval Hospital at Stonehouse, and held this post at the time of his death, when he was also Hon Surgeon to Queen Victoria and Deputy Inspector-General of Hospitals and Fleets. He resided at 46 Durnford Street, Stonehouse, Plymouth. He died in 1869.
