Details
Educated at Glasgow, the Middlesex Hospital, Aberdeen, and King's College. He served as House Surgeon at the Carlisle Dispensary, Assistant Surgeon to the Blaenavon Iron and Steel Company, and Assistant Medical Officer at Fisherton House Asylum, Salisbury, before becoming Medical Officer of Health for the District of Stainland, Halifax, Yorkshire. As a Captain in the RAMC (Militia) he was in South Africa from 1900-1903, gaining the Queen's Medal with 3 Clasps, and was seconded for service as Medical Officer in the British Central Africa Protectorate, 1904-1907. He then returned to London and practised at Merton. He went out to South Africa on the outbreak of the European War, practised at Koomatipoort, East Transvaal, and in the Cameroons, travelled to Calcutta, and died at Doula on October 24th, 1925.
