Details
Born in September, 1794, and received his professional training at St George's Hospital, where he was for six months surgical pupil to Robert Keate from July 2nd, 1814. He joined the Bengal Army as Assistant Surgeon on August 25th, 1815. He was promoted to Surgeon on May 5th, 1826. He saw active service in the Third Maratha or Pindari or Dekkan War (1817-1818), and was one of the twenty-nine officers of the Indian Medical Service who were elected to the Fellowship on August 26th, 1844. He died in Calcutta on April 24th, 1845, having been Presidency Surgeon in 1844.
