Details
Studied at Edinburgh University, and was House Surgeon to the Chalmers Hospital. He was later House Surgeon at the Northern Hospital, Liverpool, and to the Infirmary for Children there. Subsequently he was appointed Surgeon to the Northern Hospital, Medical Officer to the Cathcart Orphanage, and Medical Referee under the Workmen's Compensation Act. Later still he was appointed Assistant Surgeon, and then Surgeon, to the Royal Infirmary. He practised at 34 Rodney Street and at 19 Sandon Street, Falkner Square. Retiring from Liverpool, he practised at Boscombe Place, Boscombe, Bournemouth, and was Surgeon to the Royal Boscombe and West Hampshire Hospital. He died on December 19th, 1915. Publications: Hamilton published a number of surgical communications including:- "Three Cases of Intestinal Obstruction due to Meckel's Diverticulum." - *Lancet*, 1888, ii, 665. "Some Rare Cases at the Northern Hospital, Liverpool, of Intestinal Obstruction." - *Liverpool Med-Chir Jour*, 1894, xiv, 397.
