Details
Born on July 7th, 1787, entered the Army as Surgeon's Mate on the Hospital Staff unattached on December 30th, 1808. He was appointed to the 1st Foot Guards, later the Grenadier Guards, on June 29th, 1809, with which he served in the Walcheren Expedition (1809), at Cadiz in the Peninsula (1811-1813), in the expedition to Holland (1814), in the Netherlands and France (1814-1818), being present at the assault of Seville, the bombardment of Antwerp, the storming of Bergen-op-Zoom, the Battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo, and the taking of Péronne. He was gazetted Battalion Surgeon to the Grenadier Guards on April 29th, 1824, Surgeon Major to the same regiment on March 17th, 1837, and retired on half pay on April 17th, 1840. He died at 14 Randolph Gardens, Kilburn, London, NW, on March 21st, 1873. His son was Brigade Surgeon Lieut-Colonel C F Harrison, Grenadier Guards.
