Details
Younger son of the Rev R C Heslop, of Wakefield, Yorkshire; born on March 5th, 1880, and educated at St Thomas's Hospital and Durham University. He served as House Surgeon at the Salop Infirmary, Shrewsbury, at the Durham County Hospital, and as Clinical Assistant at All Saints' Hospital for Genito-urinary Diseases in Vauxhall Bridge Road, London. Entering the RAMC as Lieutenant on July 30th, 1905, he was promoted Surgeon Major in 1918, and retired on Oct 2nd, 1926. For service in the European War he was four times mentioned in dispatches, was decorated DSO in 1916 and OBE in 1919. He then went into practice at Ryde, Isle of Wight, where he was Surgeon to the County Hospital and Consulting Surgeon to the King Edward VII Convalescent Home for Officers at Osborne. He married Florence Madelaine, daughter of H W A Walker, and died at The Clergy House, Exeter, on January 30th, 1929, leaving a widow, a son, and a daughter.
