Details
Educated at St Thomas's and Guy's Hospitals. Settled in practice at Harrow in 1823, in partnership with Thomas Bridgwater, MB Lond, and Morris Tonge, MD Cantab. He was appointed to Harrow School, he, and Bird at Rugby, being among the earliest of Medical Officers attached to Public Schools. He rendered incalculable service during forty years to the school and successive relays of scholars. The *Harrow Gazette* spoke of him as one of the grey-haired fathers of Harrow. He was also Medical Officer to Hendon Union, and the Hendon Board of Guardians on the occasion of his death gave expression to their strong sense of the loss sustained by the Board and by the poor of Harrow in the death of a Medical Officer of so long a standing, and so universally and deservedly respected. He died on September 10th, 1872.
