Details
Educated at Manchester and University College Hospitals; practised at 14 Finsbury Place, London, where he was a member of the Court of Common Council. Later he moved to 12A Charterhouse Square, and was Medical Officer to Merchant Taylors' School, to the Great Western Bristol and Exeter Railways' Provident Society, and Surgeon to the Scottish Hospital. *The Lancet* in the obituary notice refers to the state of the City fifty years before and the changes during Hogg's time. Late in life he went to live at West Hill, St Leonards-on-Sea. He died at Brixton on June 20th, 1897. Publications: "On Varicose Veins." - *Lancet*, 1843-4, i, 357.
