Details
Joined the Army as Surgeon Assistant on October 12th, 1823, and was gazetted Assistant Surgeon to the 90th Foot on November 10th, 1825. He was promoted to the Staff on November 25th, 1831, being attached to the Grenadier Guards on May 18th, 1832, and gazetted Surgeon to the Regiment on February 7th, 1845. As Surgeon to the 3rd Battalion of the Grenadier Guards he went to the Crimea, and on September 30th, 1854, died of cholera on board HMS *Apollo* on the passage to Balaklava. He was present at the Battle of Alma.
