Details
Studied at the Middlesex Hospital, where he was Broderip Scholar, Governor's Prizeman, and gained distinction in nearly all subjects. He was then successively House Surgeon, House Physician, and Resident Obstetric Officer. After that he acted as Clinical Assistant at the Royal London Ophthalmic Hospital, and later was appointed Surgeon to the Central London Ophthalmic Hospital, a post he held until a few years before his death. He practised in Harley Street, was consulted by a large number of patients, and worked with but brief holidays. Ill health followed, marked by insomnia and depression, and ended by a death, which necessitated the holding of an inquest, by the Coroner, on January 10th, 1911.
