Details
Born on April 21st, 1802, and entered the Madras Army as Assistant Surgeon on May 10th, 1822. He was promoted Surgeon on May 30th, 1834, and Superintending Surgeon on January 31st, 1851. He served with the Mission to Persia in 1824 and was present at the capture of Kittur in December, 1824. In 1857 he was an Inspector-General of Hospitals, and following abolition of the Madras Medical Board, became Director-General of the Madras Service from December 29th, 1857, to January 27th, 1859. He resigned the service on July 11th, 1859, and died in London on December 27th, 1860.
