Studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and practised first at Holbrook near Ipswich, in the firm Martin & Jarmain, then in Ipswich itself. He was at one time Medical Officer to the Stamford Hundred Union, House Surgeon to the Militia, and President of the British Medical Association, Suffolk Branch. He died on December 22nd, 1873, at Adelphi Place, Ipswich.
