Studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and later held various posts - Surgeon to the Foundling Hospital and to St Marylebone Infirmary; Secretary to the Royal Medico-Chirurgical Society; and Medical Inspector of Prisons. He was a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. He lived at 12 Westbourne Street, Hyde Park Gardens, and died in 1870.
