Details
Studied at University College, London, and practised at Norwich, where he was Surgeon to the Henstead Union, and filled other posts, residing in St Stephen's Street. Among his posts were: Surgeon to the City Dispensary; Medical Referee to the Norwich Union Life Assurance Society; Hon Secretary to the Provincial Medical and Surgical Association, later the British Medical Association; Member of the Pathological Society of Norwich; Surgeon to the Oddfellows; Surgeon to the Norwich Union; Member of the Norwich Medico-Chirurgical Society. Before 1881 he had moved to Grove House, Scarning, East Dereham, as Medical Officer of Health for the Henstead Rural District, and Surgeon to the Boys' Home, Norwich. He had retired for thirteen years before his death at Scarning in 1900.
