Studied at King's College, London, and practised at Monmouth, where he was Surgeon to the Monmouth Hospital and Dispensary, to the County Gaol, Assistant Surgeon in the 2nd Battalion Monmouthshire Rifle Volunteers, Medical Referee to Assurance Societies, and JP for the Borough. He died at Monmouth on December 6th, 1870.
