Details
The son of Surgeon Major John Ransford, Inspector-General of Hospitals. He studied at Guy's Hospital, where he was House Surgeon and Resident Obstetric Assistant. He was later Resident Medical Officer of the Toxteth Park Workhouse Infirmary, and was Surgeon to the Royal Southern Hospital, Medical Officer to Dispensaries, and Assistant Surgeon to the Liverpool Eye and Ear Infirmary. In or before 1884 he removed to 3 Northumberland Villas, Bath, soon after to 6 Queen Square, and he became Assistant Surgeon, subsequently Surgeon, to the Royal United Hospital, and a prominent Bath surgeon. He was elected Consulting Surgeon in 1909, and died at Peneloe, Limpley Stoke, Wiltshire, on January 3rd, 1915.
