Details
Was a pupil of Robert Liston at University College Hospital, London. He then practised at 59 Westgate Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he was Surgeon to the Police and to the North-Eastern Railway, which brought him much medico-legal work as an addition to a large general practice. On his retirement in 1885 the Newcastle Town Council accorded him a vote of thanks engrossed on vellum for his valuable services as Surgeon to the Police from 1849-1885. Two years before his death he went to reside at Winchester, and died there on August 10th, 1887.
