Was Surgeon to the Middlesex Infirmary and to the Royal Metropolitan Infirmary for Children. At one time he lectured on Surgery at the Hunterian School of Medicine. He died in retirement at The Cottage, Chettiscombe, Tiverton, Devon, on August 18th, 1861. He was the author of many books and papers.
