Details
Studied at Guy's Hospital and practised for forty years in Croydon, at first with Henry Horsley. He was for thirty-one years Surgeon to the Croydon Union Infirmary and was active in arranging a new building. Together with Alfred Carpenter and Sir Thomas Eldridge he promoted the Croydon General Hospital in 1867, and for some years acted both as Surgeon and Secretary, and when he was elected FRCS in 1875 was the recipient of a testimonial in recognition of his services to the Hospital. He retired from practice some years before his death at Arundel House, London Road, Croydon, on April 18th, 1896, and he was survived by three sons and a daughter.
