Details
Studied at the University of Durham and the Royal Infirmary, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. At Durham he distinguished himself in 1869 by gaining the Dickenson Memorial Scholarship in medicine, surgery, midwifery, and pathology. He also gained medals in botany, practical chemistry, and anatomy, serving as prosector. He was House Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary. He then studied in London at University College and at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He was House Surgeon at St Peter's Hospital for Urinary Diseases, and whilst Resident Surgeon at the Leeds General Infirmary published *Outline Forms for Clinical Case Books* (16mo, London, 1879). He afterwards settled in practice, first in Harrington Street, London, NW, and then at 656, Holloway Road, London, N, where he acted as Referee to the Royal London Friendly Society. He died April 6th, 1903.
