One of the four sons of Dr John Vinrace, who practised in Birmingham for half a century. All four sons became medical practitioners, one being Dennis Vinrace, MRCS, Surgeon to the Western Skin Hospital. Felix Vinrace was educated at King Edward's Grammar School, Birmingham, and studied at Queen's College, Birmingham, Queen's College, Galway, University College and the London Hospitals. He was House Physician, House Surgeon, and Obstetric House Surgeon at Queen's Hospital; Surgical Casualty Officer at the General Hospital, Birmingham; House Physician at the Hospital for Women, Soho Square; and Demonstrator of Anatomy at the London Hospital. In 1887 he was elected Surgeon to the Birmingham and Midland Skin and Urinary Hospital, and practised at 33 Temple Row. He also practised in London at 13 Wimpole Street, and in 1898 started St Paul's Hospital for Genito-Urinary, Cutaneous and Venereal Diseases in Endell Street, Holborn. He likewise travelled widely on the Continent during thirty years visiting foreign hospitals treating the same diseases as the above hospitals. He died at Birmingham on July 26th, 1927. He was unmarried, and a prominent Freemason in Warwickshire.
