Details
Studied at Guy's Hospital, where he was a prizeman in anatomy, physiology, surgery, medicine, and midwifery, also Mackenzie Bacon prizeman in medical ophthalmology. A keen cricketer and football player, he was at one time Captain of both games. He acted as House Surgeon and Resident Obstetric Assistant. He then settled in practice at Canterbury in partnership with his two brothers, Frank Wacher, MRCS, and Harold Wacher, MRCS. He was Surgeon to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, to St Edmund's School, and to Kent College, and was a Medical Referee under the Workmen's Compensation Act. In general practice he became known as one of the most skilful surgeons in East Kent. When past cricket and football he followed with equal activity fishing and shooting. At the end of a long round of work he was seized with acute illness which ended fatally after four days on March 3rd, 1918, at 9 St George's Place, Canterbury.
