Son of James Ware, FRS, surgeon and ophthalmologist (1756-1815), of whom there is an account in the *Dictionary of National Biography*. He practised for many years as a surgeon at 51 Russell Square, London, WC, and later at 18 Gordon Square. He edited some of his father's works - *Observations on the Treatment of the Epiphora*, etc. (8vo, London, 1818). He died before October 14th, 1872. His portrait is in the Fellows' Album. His son was James Thomas Ware (qv).
