Details
Born on July 22nd, 1814; he studied at St Bartholomew's Hospital and entered the IMS, Bengal Army, as Assistant Surgeon on July 4th, 1848. He was promoted to Surgeon on September 6th, 1862, to Surgeon Major on July 4th, 1868, and retired on August 20th, 1871. He was on active service in the 2nd Sikh or Punjab War, 1848-1849, being present at the Battle of Gujerat, and was awarded the Medal; he was also in the Burmah campaign, 1852, and was present at the capture of Rangoon, for which he also obtained the Medal. He died at Penrhos, Carnarvon, on December 12th, 1875.
