Details
The son of John Smith Soden (qv), of Bath, who was a Jacksonian Prizeman in 1810 with a dissertation on "The Bite of a Rabid Animal". John Soden succeeded to his father's practice, but on marrying a wealthy lady retired. He changed his name to Corbet in 1847, and after the death of his wife moved to London. He was described as handsome, accomplished, and of courtly manners. He died on January 18th, 1871. His portrait is in the College Collection.
