Details
Born in July, 1806, and went to the Wakefield Grammar School. Later he was apprenticed to his uncle, Squire Statter, at Wakefield, and finally educated at Guy's Hospital. He practised at Kirgate, and then at Thornhill House, Wakefield, becoming a leading citizen, and was at one time President of the Wakefield Medical Society. His successor was William Aked Statter, LRCP Edin. After his retirement he went to live at the Old Hall, Snapethorpe, where after a period of failing health he died on May 9th, 1896.
