He was assistant demonstrator of anatomy at the University of Durham, resident accoucheur at the London Hospital, and assistant surgeon at the North-West London and the Cancer Hospitals. He practised in London as a surgeon until 1902, when he retired to Beaconsfield where he lived until 1909. He then moved to Great Somerford, Wilts and in 1911 to Malmesbury, where he died on 13 March 1930 and was buried under an order of the coroner. He was married and his wife survived him.
