Details
Born 12 February 1869 eldest of the three sons of John Crowley, a hotel proprietor, and his wife née Deehan. He was educated at Xavier College and the University, Melbourne, and was a house surgeon at the Melbourne Hospital. Coming to England, he practised for several years at Beckenham, Kent, but in 1910 moved to Ashmead, Chertsey, Surrey. Here he was in general practice till 1936, when he retired to Gulline, Avenue du Petit Mont, Jersey. He lived through the German occupation of 1940-45 and died there on 30 May 1952, aged 83. He retained all his faculties and was an active bridge player in his last years. He was a man of high ideals, beloved and respected. He married Miss Peck in 1899, and was survived by a son and three daughters.
