Details
Born on 12 July 1874, for his medical education he went to Guy's Hospital, and, after qualifying in 1897, he entered the Indian Medical Service on 28 January 1898 obtaining a gold medal in military medicine at Netley. Promoted Captain on 28 January 1901, he was awarded the Kaisar-i-Hind medal, first class, on 1 January 1909. He became a Major on 28 June 1909 and Lieutenant-Colonel on 28 July 1917. At the end of the first world war he was awarded the OBE for his services. In 1933 after retirement he was living in Naples, and at one time later in Torca Hill, Dalkey, Co Dublin. He moved to Bournemouth and died there after a long illness on 25 June 1962 aged 87. Publication: *Medical Guide for India and the Tropics* 1920; 3rd edition 1947.
